You can vote from anywhere! In preparation for November 3, 2020 U.S. Presidential Election Day, we are advising our fellow Americans living abroad to get registered to request their overseas ballot also known as the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) as early as possible. We highly recommend you register to vote by August keeping allowance for postal or courier times back and forth for your election ballot to be sent to you.

Every state and voting district has different rules in regards to digital or postal registration. Best rule of thumb is: Outside the U.S. Get registered by August 2020. The Federal Voting Assistance Program provides full details to overseas citizens, service members and their families. You should be able to find all relevant information on state and general elections guides and deadlines on the FVAP website. Visit FVAP.gov to select your state and get access to your fillable federal post card application. Complete the form using your state's requirements, print the completed form, sign, and send to the designated election office. Please pass this very useful FVAP.gov website to your fellow US citizens.

As proud Americans living abroad, we should participate in this important part of citizenship. We want not only to support our AmCham Abu Dhabi members, but to also support all fellow Americans residing in the UAE to participate and get registered early for overseas voting. The US Embassy has gracefully offered to send those voting forms via their diplomatic mailing system, but they must inspect all open envelopes prior to sending.

The AmCham Abu Dhabi’s U.S.-U.A.E. Public Affairs Committee is proudly supporting registered voters who require to mail-in ballots by accepting ballots at the AmCham Abu Dhabi office, and submitting on their behalf via UPS. Furthermore, the U.S. Embassy Abu Dhabi will also be providing scheduled appointment services to accept mail-in ballots for submission.
